The Springs Mountain Sangha discussion group is a place where you can discuss topics of interest and whatever is most alive in your practice at the moment. Our members-only forum is a safe haven, a place away from the prying eyes of the Internet. This ensures that we enjoy a private, spam-free environment in which to explore The Way together.
Because our forum is a Google Group, you will first need to establish a free Google account, then email the Sangha's group administrator and request that your name be added to the list of participants.
Setting up your Google account
If you already have an account, please proceed to the next section. To create an account, go to www.google.com/accounts/NewAccount and follow the instructions.
If you have any problems or questions, please email the group administrator and we will do our best to help.
Joining the discussion group
1. Set up an email to discussion@smszen.org.
2. In your email message, provide your name, describe your relationship with Springs Mountain Sangha, and add a brief statement requesting to join the discussion group as a member.
3. Most membership requests will be granted within 24 hours. However, there may be times when the administrator is away (for a retreat or in deep Samadhi) and your request might take longer. Your practice of understanding is appreciated.
4. When your membership is ready, you will receive an email with a link to the discussion group. On your first visit, please read the “Welcome!” page, which provides the basic guidelines for using the forum.
5. You can modify your membership account settings at any time by clicking on the “Edit my membership” button on the main page. One settings choice of particular interest is whether you want to receive email notifications whenever there is new activity posted to the group. By default, your account will be set to receive no email notifications, which means that it will be up to you to check the site to find out about the latest discussions.
6. Feel free to explore, start new discussions, or join in by commenting on existing discussions.
7. If you have any problems or questions, please email the SMS discussion group administrator.
