2015 Daniel Patrick O’Connor Lecture:
“The Practice of the Wild” by Gary Snyder

Gary Snyder is an environmental activist, poet and Zen practitioner, often associated with the 1950s San Francisco Renaissance and Beat literary movements (think Lawrence Ferlinghetti,  Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg). Unlike many of his compatriots, he studied for over ten years at Rinzai Zen temples while also doing translations in Japan. This talk will be based on his best-known book by the same title. A rare opportunity to hear this American icon!
