Journey without Maps:  The Story of Psyche and Eros

Journey Without Maps:
The Story of Psyche & Eros

SMS January Integrative Retreat
Teacher: Sarah Bender, Sensei

A weekend retreat to spend time with the myth of Psyche and Eros
and to explore its relevance for this time.
We will move in and out of meditation and conversation,
and will also bring in practices of sleep and dream.
Vegetarian lunches included.

The story of Psyche and Eros, told by Apuleius in the second century CE and retold in various forms ever since, recounts the travels and travails of Psyche, the All-Beautiful, and Eros, God of Love, as they make their way—impeded and aided by forces they do not control—to happy union.
Each of us will find our own connections to the story.  Sitting and walking with it, holding it as we hold koans can offer us new insight for this Way we walk .
