Retreat Reminder- Held Together by Scars and Radiance

The Living Root Bridges of Meghalaya- An indigenous tribe long ago noticed this tree and saw in its powerful roots an opportunity to easily cross the area’s many rivers. Now, whenever and wherever the need arises, the community  simply grows their bridges

Please let us know by the morning of
Tuesday, Aug 25th if you will be attending the
9-6pm portion of this retreat.

Held Together by Scars and Radiance

A Springs Mountain Sangha Retreat
In Community: on the trail, on Zoom, in the garden
Friday Evening, August 28
and
Saturday, August 29

Here’s a passage from Joan Sutherland’s
Vimalakirti and the Awakened Heart

“Held together by scars and radiance, all of us. Often in need, all of us, and sometimes some of us in great need. The filaments that connect us vibrating with prayers and exhortations. The vow at the center, the small glow in our bellies, listening, sending out its own filaments in reply.”

In this strange time of painful separations and new intimate connections, we explore ways of listening and sending.  And we are joining each other in meditation and conversation, even in retreat, with creative forms.  You may participate in any or all parts of this retreat.
